Licensing, Intellectual Property & Copyright
Last updated 2 September 2026
When you buy a model on ModelTree you are buying a licence to use it, not the copyright in it. This page explains the licence you receive, what you may and may not do with a model, and how to raise a copyright concern. The exact licence for each model is shown on its product page and prevails if it differs from the summary here.
The licence you receive
Unless a product page states otherwise, a purchase grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the model to design, manufacture, cast, 3D-print and sell physical jewellery. The licence is granted to the buying account and cannot be shared between businesses.
What you may do
You may use the files in your own production workflow, modify and adapt them for your own manufacturing, and sell the physical pieces you make from them. You may keep working copies and re-download the files for your own use.
What you may not do
You may not resell, share, sub-license or redistribute the model file itself — as-is or modified — as a digital product, on another marketplace, or in a bundle. You may not claim authorship of the model, or use it to train a machine-learning model. A single purchase does not cover multiple unrelated businesses.
Ownership
Copyright and all intellectual-property rights in a model remain with GoldTree, or with the independent designer who created it, as applicable. Nothing you buy transfers ownership of the design unless a listing or a written custom-work agreement expressly says so.
Custom and commissioned work
Where you commission a bespoke model, ownership and licensing follow the written terms agreed for that commission. Unless agreed otherwise, ownership of a commissioned model transfers to you on full payment.
Our brand
The MODELTREE and GoldTree names, logos and page designs are our trademarks and may not be used without permission. A model licence does not grant any right to our branding.
Copyright complaints
We respond to genuine copyright and IP complaints. If you believe a model infringes your rights, email legal@goldtree.co.il with the model URL, proof of your rights and your contact details. We will review, and remove or disable infringing listings where a complaint is substantiated.
Repeat infringement
Designers who repeatedly upload infringing content have their listings removed and their seller accounts suspended or closed.
